Understanding the different major types of Thai visas:

Transit Visa
This is a “visa on arrival” and should not be confused with a “Tourist Visa” which is applied for at a Thai Embassy or Consulate outside of Thailand. There is normally no paperwork involved. These visas are typically issued to those persons who hold a passport from a country that is on the “Visa Waiver” list maintained by the Thai Immigration department. (15 or 30 days depending on the passport holder’s country and port of entry)

Tourist Visa
A 60-day visa received from an Embassy or Consulate of the Kingdom of Thailand specifically for the purpose of tourism. You cannot hold a work permit or otherwise engage in business with this visa. Tourist Visas can typically be extended for 30 days at a cost of 1900 Thai baht at the Thai Department of Immigration. At ThailandVisaNOW.com, we can convert your Tourist Visa into a Non-Immigrant Visa with little or no hassle without ever leaving the country.

Non-Immigrant “O” Retirement Visa
A Non-Immigrant “O” Retirement Visa is for those individuals who wish to retire in Thailand. These visas are issued on a yearly basis and have to be renewed appropriately. At ThailandVisaNOW.com we will not only manage the application process for you. These are normally reserverd for individuals who are at least 50 years old, have at least 800,000 THB baht savings in the bank or 65,000 THB income per month. At ThailandVisaNOW.com we know of cases where those age and financial requirements have been waived for those who are at least 45 years or older.

Non-Immigrant Visas
A 90-day or 1-year Non-Immigrant Thai Visa is given to those who will stay in Thailand for an extended period of time for, work, retirement, study, or other business. Non-Immigrant Visas normally fall into one of the following categories:

Non-Immigrant “B” Business Visa – This is the standard expat visa for those working in Thailand and holding or eligible to hold a Work Permit. Expats working at a Thai company or that are self-employed and have a registered Thai company normally have a Non-Immigrant “B” or Business Visa. You can have a Non-Immigrant "B" visa and a work permit and still be required to exit and re-enter thailand every 90 days. If this is the case, we can convert your Non-Immigrant "B" visa to a business visa and issue a reentry permit that will enable you to stay in thailand for up to 15 months without getting a renewal. This is without any capital, business or employee requirments. Ask us how.

Non-Immigrant “ED” Student Visa – A one-year visa for those who are studying in Thailand (normally requires proof of enrollment at a university or language school).

Non-Immigrant “O” Marriage Visa – A Non-Immigrant “O” Marriage Visa is for those foreigners who are legally married to a Thai National.

Non-Immigrant “O” Dependent Visa – A Non-Immigrant “O” Dependent Visa is for those foreigners who have children or parents in Thailand who are Thai Nationals.
